About Dr. Shir

Medicine that enters the home with humility.

Dr. Shir Adini Menuchin is a board-certified family physician and pain physician with years of experience in palliative and end-of-life care.

Alongside her clinical work, Shir is married and a mother of two; this family perspective strengthens her sensitivity to the needs of the patient, the home, and the family throughout the care process.

She works as a pain physician at Tel Hashomer, bringing together family medicine, palliative care, symptom relief, and the emotional reality of families facing serious illness.

Alongside her works an exceptionally experienced palliative nurse, creating a physician-nurse partnership built for continuity, trust, and fast, compassionate judgment.

Palliative nurse

Dana is a mother of seven, holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, completed advanced clinical training, and specializes in supportive palliative care.

Across her clinical path, she has coordinated supportive and palliative care in hospital and community settings, and today serves as part of a skilled palliative and end-of-life care team.

Working alongside Dr. Shir, Dana brings families precise, sensitive, and practical guidance throughout the illness journey, with attention to what matters most to the patient, their beliefs, their values, and their quality of life.

“Good and precise guidance for patients and their families can turn a path filled with difficulty into one that is meaningful and empowering.”

“Especially near the end, multidisciplinary teamwork guided by the patient’s preferences can change the experience of death from difficult and traumatic to a better ending, in the place the patient chose, surrounded by loved ones, with as little physical suffering as possible.”
